On Friday, 24 June, Fairvale’s 2016 captains ventured to Prairiewood High School for an afternoon tea with various school leadership teams across Sydney. A warm reception from the Prairiewood hosts consisting of their respective Student Representative body, followed by an even more welcoming platter of sub-sandwiches, set us up for a great day. Various schools and leadership teams were in attendance. Ranging from the ever familiar locals of Canley Vale High School to the more obscure Camden High School. We discussed topics ranging from conventional small-talk of the weather, life in the HSC and respective school lifestyles to the more mundane nuances of commenting on blazer designs. Aside the chatter, leisure activities such as charades assisted in figuratively breaking the ice, opening up greater communication between the schools. Throughout the night, exchanging ideas and banter ensued, with various school prefects and captains learning from each other and their schools. To end the night, a game of dodgeball, raiding the snack table and hearty farewells concluded an otherwise chaotic week.
