Fairvale School Nurse
- School Nurse and the Fairvale High School Wellbeing Hub.
Fairvale High School has a full time registered nurse on school grounds during normal school hours. The school nurse manages any emergency first aid/medical issues for both students and staff.
The nurse leads the development of all student health care plans including; Anaphylaxis, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Asthma and any other medical issues a student may have. Communication of these plans to all staff in the school ensures that each student's medical and wellbeing needs are effectively supported by all staff.
In addition, the School Nurse liaises with medical personnel for students through consultation and approval from parents and leads a "wrap around support" model of health management.
This aims to maximise the wellbeing outcomes for all students with additional medical and wellbeing needs.
The school nurse also collaborates and supports the school's Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist who are employed both 1 day per week to support the learning and wellbeing needs of students. The school meets the costs of this service and allows students to be able to access these services during the school day.
Parents who may have concerns about their child's medical needs while at school should contact the school nurse on 96043118.
