"Welcome to all Year 7 and 8 students to Fairvale High School. On behalf of the staff and students we particularly wish the new Year 7 students all the very best in what will be an exciting and new learning environment for them.
The school has outstanding programs for all students to be " the best that they can be", and there are a range of student learning and wellbeing opportunities aimed at meeting the individual needs of all students.
After a successful first year at the school, we acknowledge the positive efforts Year 8 students made in 2017 and look forward to working with all students this year.
As Deputy Principal responsible for Years 7 and 8, I am confident all students will continue to take responsibility for their own learning by maintaining excellent attendance, by working hard to meet the learning requirements of each subject area and by following the school's FAIR core values. Best wishes to all in 2018.
The acting Deputy Principal overseeing YEAR 9 and 10 is Ms Fountis (Head Teacher English).
"I would like to welcome years 9 and 10 to a new year of learning and academic discovery. This year will bring a consolidation of skills acquired in stage 4, while moving through stage 5 to the preliminary and HSC years. I would also like to welcome our new enrolments and would like to wish you all well as you take on the opportunities offered to you at Fairvale High School.
Year 9 now have a new set of challenges ahead with NAPLAN tied to the HSC in the areas of reading, writing and numeracy. Learning opportunities at Fairvale High School will help develop students in their literacy and numeracy skills, alongside programs of a high quality from all faculties. Students are urged to act on their curiosity and take full advantage of every learning opportunity offered to grow their skills and build their knowledge.
As Year 10 move towards their senior years, I encourage students to work diligently to continue to develop key foundation skills that will become necessary for success and meaningful learning. I urge students to work hard to develop their critical thinking skills and prepare themselves for their futures and life long learning in an ever changing world.
Go well and do your best in the year ahead and I look forward to watching you grow as people and inquisitive learners.
